 Just to let you know about a couple of changes this year at congress.

 

Anchor Position Rule 13

The Anchor is allowed to keep the rope below the level of protective

clothing and contact with the belt for safety considerations will not constitute

a lock.

 

Change the infringement 14.3 to be listed an an indoor and outdoor infringement.

Side-stepping: Stepping outside the pulling track, lane or surface to gain an unfair

advantage.

 

Other Happenings; Change age limits did not pass for the Junior Category.

 

Weigh-Ins. Additional weigh-in time on Friday evening for those members of the national

teams who are unable to attend at the earlier specified time with exceptional circumstance's.

Junior Jamboree 2015

Great News people of the World!

From next year (2015), the annual SA Junior Championships, the largest Tug-of-War Youth Championship in the World, will become an open event! 

It will be marketed outside South Africa as the "Junior Jamboree" and it will be open to ALL junior teams in the World, with age and weight classes for everyone! Next year's event will be hosted on 27 & 28 March 2015 in Cape Town. Weigh-in will be on 26 March.

In its 35th year of existence, an estimated 300 teams will compete over the two days of the event in an arena suited for a World Championship.

The championship will be conducted according to the TWIF rules. Participation in the event will be available for our international competitors at a price cheaper than the GENSB. SA Tug-of-War's carrier of choice, Emirates, have excellent airfare prices flying you into Cape Town.
